About Paesaggi Sonori

Paesaggi Sonori is the world music festival of the Valle dei Laghi, located in the municipality of Vallelaghi (Province of Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige). Organized by the ArteLaghi association, it features two seasons: a winter series at the Teatro Valle dei Laghi in Vezzano, hosting international world music artists, and a summer series with free open-air concerts in the valley's squares, parks, and villages. From Greek rebetiko to Scottish Gaelic songs, and from South American guitars to Alpine traditions, it is a sonic journey between the two lakes.

A bridge of sound over the Valle dei Laghi

Paesaggi Sonori — World Music in Valle dei Laghi is a music festival that brings global sound traditions to the Municipality of Vallelaghi, in the Province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). Launched in 2025 as an experimental first edition, the event is organized by the ArteLaghi association, under the artistic direction of Lorenzo Bernardi and Mauro Odorizzi, with the support of Trentini nel Mondo. In just a few years, it has become a landmark event for live music lovers, blending global folk repertoires with the natural landscapes and historic villages of the valley.

Two seasons, two souls

The festival is divided into two distinct parts. The winter and spring season takes place at the Teatro Valle dei Laghi in Vezzano, where national and international world music artists take the stage: from virtuosos of Greek rebetiko to the female voices of the Apulian tradition, and from South American guitars to Celtic and Mediterranean music ensembles. The summer season, known as Paesaggi Sonori Summer, transforms historic squares, parks, and natural spots in the villages of Vallelaghi — Calavino, Padergnone, Vezzano, Terlago, Stravino, Cavedine — into open-air stages for a series of free concerts.

Music from around the world

The common thread is the dialogue between cultures through the universal language of music. The program has featured projects dedicated to the Italian tradition (mandolin and guitar), Southern Italian folk with the chitarra battente, Gaelic songs from the Scottish Highlands, contemporary guitar from the Far East, and sounds from the Mediterranean and Middle East. Each evening is designed as a small journey, featuring artists chosen from the best performers of their respective traditions.

  • Where: Teatro Valle dei Laghi (Vezzano) for the winter season; squares, parks, and villages of Vallelaghi and Cavedine for the summer season
  • When: From October to March (winter) and from June to August (summer)
  • Admission: Free summer concerts, no booking required; winter season at the theatre
  • Organizer: ArteLaghi Association

A territory to discover

The Valle dei Laghi, nestled between Lake Garda and the city of Trento, is a land of vineyards, alpine lakes, and ancient villages. Paesaggi Sonori enhances this unique setting by using music as an opportunity to rediscover the landscape and the local community. In case of bad weather, summer concerts are moved indoors to the foyer of the Teatro Valle dei Laghi.

Paesaggi Sonori — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of Paesaggi Sonori unfolds over two seasons. In winter, at the Teatro Valle dei Laghi in Vezzano, the festival concludes with Greek rebetiko from the Pèrgamos Project (February 7) and the female voices of the Faraualla quartet (March 7). The summer season brings seven free open-air concerts in the villages of Vallelaghi and Cavedine, from June 19 to August 9, featuring world music, South American guitars, Gaelic songs, and Alpine traditions.

Paesaggi Sonori 2026
