About Poplar
A festival between forest and city
Poplar Festival is one of the most iconic cultural events in the Municipality of Trento and the entire Trentino-Alto Adige region. Every September, Doss Trento Park — the urban nature reserve overlooking the city, famous for the Cesare Battisti mausoleum — transforms into a sprawling stage for music, visual arts, and contemporary culture. The festival has consciously chosen to remain in this intimate green space, which defines its cozy, community-focused soul.
History and identity
Founded in 2017 as a free event and now organized by the non-profit association Entropia APS, Poplar has grown edition after edition to become a benchmark for the Italian independent scene. Beyond the music, the festival prioritizes sustainability, artistic research, and the centrality of the collective experience over the logic of mass numbers.
Multidisciplinary program
The lineup spans several days and three stages, featuring a program that ranges from electronic and indie to world music and experimental sound research. Alongside concerts and DJ sets, the festival hosts:

Poplar Festival 2026 — «For That Beautiful Feeling»
From September 10 to 13, 2026, Doss Trento Park hosts the new edition of Poplar Festival, titled «For That Beautiful Feeling». Four days of concerts, DJ sets, performances, exhibitions, and talks spread across three stages, with a program focused on research and current international trends.
The first names on the bill
Announced artists include Floating Points (audiovisual project by Sam Shepherd, Italian exclusive), the British band Maruja, the Colombian artist Ela Minus, the Irish band Dove Ellis, the Australian Donny Benét, the London duo 4AM Kru, and FreshMula. On the Italian front, the final date of the I Cani tour is expected, following their comeback album «Post Mortem».
A growing festival that stays true to itself
The choice to remain in the nature reserve overlooking Trento is confirmed, a space with limited capacity but central to the event's identity. The cultural program — exhibitions, talks, and performances — will be revealed progressively in the months leading up to the event.

Practical information — Poplar
How to get there
Doss Trento Park is located on the hill overlooking the city, on Via Dòs, and can be reached on foot from the Piedicastello district. By train, arrive at Trento station (Brenner line), which is a short distance from the festival area; by car, take the Trento Centro exit (A22 Brenner motorway) and follow signs for Piedicastello and Doss Trento.
Tickets
Full passes for the entire festival and daily tickets are available for purchase on the official platforms linked to the website. A campsite is also available for participants.
Tips
As this is a natural hill area, comfortable shoes are recommended. Trento offers numerous accommodation options in the city center, just a few minutes from the festival grounds.
