Free screening under the stars in the Marela Biblioteca courtyard
The Open-Air Cinema in Monesiglio is a free event that brings iconic auteur films to the heart of the Alta Langa, in the province of Cuneo (Piedmont). Promoted by the Parco Culturale Alta Langa APS, the series transforms the courtyard of the Marela Biblioteca—housed in the historic Filanda at Via Francesco Corsini 22—into an open-air summer arena. Here, watching a film becomes a wonderful opportunity for the local community and visitors to the Langhe hills to come together.
The evening is dedicated to Pulp Fiction by Quentin Tarantino, one of the most iconic and influential films of the 1990s. The screening is presented in its original version with Italian subtitles, a choice that honors the film's authenticity and caters to both cinema buffs and those who wish to hear the actors' original performances. The film begins once the sky is dark enough, around 8:30 PM, capturing the magical atmosphere of a traditional village outdoor screening.
This initiative is part of the cultural programming through which the Parco Culturale Alta Langa enlivens Monesiglio and its surrounding towns, weaving together cinema, literature, and community life around the Filanda library. The screening of Pulp Fiction is part of a short series that has also featured Italian classics like Giuseppe Tornatore's Cinema Paradiso, reflecting a desire to alternate between international auteur hits and masterpieces of cinematic tradition.
Admission is free: no reservation is required, simply show up at the library courtyard. Popcorn is offered to the first guests, while drinks are available at the adjacent Filanda bar. Seating is limited, so we recommend that spectators bring a folding chair, clothing suitable for the cool hill evenings, and any personal snacks they might enjoy during the film.
A village overlooking the Bormida Valley, Monesiglio is one of the most characteristic towns in the Cuneo Alta Langa, a land of rolling hills, hazelnut groves, castles, and rural traditions. Experiencing an open-air cinema night in this setting means combining a passion for the seventh art with the discovery of an authentic corner of Piedmont, far from the beaten path and rich in landscape and gastronomic charm.
For summer 2026, the Parco Culturale Alta Langa brought an evening dedicated to Pulp Fiction by Quentin Tarantino to Monesiglio, scheduled for Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 8:30 PM in the courtyard of the Marela Biblioteca (Via Francesco Corsini 22).
The screening, with free admission, was presented in its original version with Italian subtitles, starting at dusk. Popcorn was offered to the first guests, while drinks were available at the adjacent Filanda bar. The evening was part of a small open-air cinema cycle that also included a screening of Cinema Paradiso.
The 2026 cycle also featured a screening of Cinema Paradiso by Giuseppe Tornatore (May 26, 2026).
