Onda Festival: Sicilian music takes center stage in Valderice
The Onda Festival is one of the most anticipated musical events of the summer in the town of Valderice, in the province of Trapani, Western Sicily. The festival traditionally takes place in the scenic setting of Lido Valderice, in the Cortigliolo area, where the sea and the summer breeze provide the perfect backdrop for three nights of completely free concerts dedicated to the finest "made in Sicily" music.
A project by Rino Marchese
Artistic direction is led by Sicilian musician and producer Rino Marchese, who has envisioned the Onda Festival since its inception in 2018 as a showcase for the island's musical excellence. It features artists born or raised in Sicily who have conquered national and international stages, bringing their Mediterranean identity beyond regional borders. The event is promoted by the Municipality of Valderice in collaboration with the Rinoscky Music Association, with the support of local institutions.
Three nights of free music
The heart of the festival is its program, spread over three consecutive evenings that span various genres and styles: electro-swing and vintage pop, singer-songwriter performances, world music, and Mediterranean fusions, with live sets alternating with DJ sets during the peak of the night. The free-entry format makes the Onda Festival a popular and family-friendly gathering, attracting residents, vacationers, and tourists who flock to the Valderice coast in the summer.
Valderice and the Trapani summer
The Onda Festival is part of the rich Valderice Estate calendar, a season of events organized by the Municipality between July and September at both Lido Valderice and the Nino Croce amphitheater in the Municipal Pine Forest. Located just a few kilometers from Trapani and Erice, Valderice offers visitors beaches, culinary traditions, and a packed schedule of cultural events, of which the Onda Festival represents one of the most iconic musical highlights.

Onda Festival — edition 2026

How to get there
Lido Valderice can be reached by car from the A29 motorway (Trapani exit) by continuing towards the north coast, approximately 10-15 minutes from the center of Trapani. The nearest airport is Trapani-Birgi (Vincenzo Florio), about 30 minutes away.

Access to the Onda Festival evenings is free of charge.
Tips
As this is an outdoor summer event in a coastal area, light clothing is recommended. There is no shortage of beach clubs, restaurants, and accommodation facilities along the Valderice coast.
