The community festival of the Angrogna AIB volunteers at Passel
The Nou Fân Fèsta — which means "let's celebrate again" in the Occitan language — is the most anticipated summer event in Angrogna, a small town in the Angrogna Valley within the Metropolitan City of Turin, in the heart of the Pinerolo Waldensian valleys. It is organized by the AIB Volunteer Team (Forest Firefighting) of Angrogna, in collaboration with the Spazio Il Passel, at località Passel 332.
Originally conceived as a one-and-a-half-day gathering, the event has grown over the years into a full three-day festival with a clear goal: to raise funds to equip the team with proper vehicles and gear and, more recently, to renovate the volunteers' future headquarters in the Bruere area, along the provincial road 163.
The program weaves together the typical ingredients of a Piedmontese village festival with the spirit of the Occitan valleys. It kicks off on Friday evening with a convivial dinner featuring local dishes, followed by dancing and disco nights. Saturday is dedicated to sports, with football and beach volleyball tournaments, as well as cycling excursions along the trails of the Angrogna Valley. Sunday is the highlight: stalls featuring local producers and hobbyists, the famous "Zampettata al Passel" dog walk, a community lunch, and the symbolic inauguration of new firefighting vehicles purchased with the funds raised.
More than just a local festival, the Nou Fân Fèsta tells the story of the deep bond between the inhabitants of Angrogna and their mountains. The AIB volunteers are on the front lines of preventing and fighting the forest fires that threaten the valley slopes: participating in the festival means concretely supporting those who protect this natural heritage. The atmosphere is that of an authentic and welcoming Alpine village, where people gather for music, good food, and activities for all ages, from the youngest children to mountain bike enthusiasts.
The event is held in località Passel, a hamlet of Angrogna nestled in the greenery of the province of Turin, in Piedmont. It is an ideal setting for those looking to discover a lesser-known corner of the Waldensian valleys, combining hiking, local culture, and conviviality.
The 2026 Nou Fân Fèsta organized by the Angrogna AIB volunteers took place from May 22 to 24 in the Passel area. In addition to the usual dinners and dance evenings, the edition featured a symbolic moment: the inauguration of the new pickup truck equipped with a firefighting module, purchased thanks to funds raised in the previous edition. The new fundraising campaign was dedicated to the renovation of the team's future headquarters in the Bruere area.

The event typically takes place on the last weekend of May, spanning three days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
Angrogna can be reached by car from Torre Pellice and Luserna San Giovanni, traveling up the Angrogna Valley. The Passel area is located along the municipal road; a car is recommended due to the mountain location.
Admission to the festival is free; some activities (dinners, guided excursions, the dog walk) require a contribution. Dinners and lunches are paid events to support the AIB team's fundraising efforts.
