Notte del Solstizio d'Estate

The magic of the shortest night

There is one night each year when Turriaco gathers along the banks of the Isonzo to welcome the arrival of summer: it is the Notte del Solstizio d'Estate, an event that the Pro Loco Turriaco has been organizing since 2003 in the evocative Parco Comunale dell'Isonzo. An evening designed to celebrate the solstice, when the sun reaches its highest point and the night becomes shortest, in an atmosphere suspended between nature, spectacle, and tradition.

Fire, acrobatics, and theatre under the stars

The natural setting of the park becomes a stage for circus arts shows, acrobatics, and fire performances by international companies and artists. As dusk falls, the audience witnesses performances that culminate in the lighting of large fire circles and suns, in a scenic crescendo that has become the evening's hallmark. During the day, the space is dedicated to children, with educational workshops and creative activities.

An event that draws from the Northeast and beyond

Over the years, the Notte del Solstizio has become an event capable of attracting a large audience not only from Friuli Venezia Giulia but also from Austria and Slovenia, thanks to Turriaco's location just a few kilometers from the borders. Supported by the Municipality of Turriaco, the event is a fine example of how a Pro Loco (local tourism association) can transform a calendar date into a major attraction, combining quality entertainment, free admission, and local roots.
