The festival of the patrons

The Festa di San Vito is the patronal festival of San Vito al Torre, a small municipality in the Bassa friulana, in the province of Udine, a few kilometres from the border with the province of Gorizia. The occasion falls on June 15th, the day dedicated to the village's patron saints, Vito, Modesto and Crescenzia, after whom the parish church is also named.

It is a community festival where the religious dimension, with celebrations in honour of the saints, intertwines with the popular one, made up of gatherings, stalls, and moments of conviviality that liven up the village around the patron's day.

Faith, tradition, and community

The heart of the festival is the religious celebration in honour of Saints Vito, Modesto and Crescenzia, accompanied by the traditions that the community renews every year. Around the services, the more convivial moments unfold, with food stalls offering dishes of Friulian cuisine, music, and events designed for gathering and celebrating together.

San Vito al Torre and the Bassa friulana

San Vito al Torre is located in the plain of the Bassa friulana, along the course of the Torre river, in an agricultural area rich in history and traditions. The municipality also has other festive moments throughout the year, such as the Festa dell'Avvento in December, but it is the occasion of the patron saints that holds the deepest sense of the village's identity. The patronal festival is the best opportunity to discover the authenticity of this corner of Friuli.
