Itineraries and experiences to discover Gorizia
A border city par excellence, Gorizia has always been a meeting point between the Latin, Slavic, and Germanic worlds. From this identity is born Crocevie d'Europa, the widespread program with which the Municipality of Gorizia invites citizens and visitors to rediscover the city and its territory through dozens of cultural experiences, spread from May to December.
The calendar offers a variety of formats: thematic guided tours, walking and cycling itineraries, green excursions, cultural treks, and theatrical storytelling. These range from Jewish Gorizia to trails on the Great War between Monte Sabotino, Monte Calvario, and Oslavia, from walks in Parco Coronini to forest bathing in Parco Piuma, to visits to local businesses.
Consistent with its cross-border spirit, Crocevie d'Europa offers itineraries that cross the border with Slovenia, connecting symbolic places such as the Rafut pass, Villa Rafut, and the Kostanjevica Monastery, as well as "Hop on Hop off" excursions that link Grado, Gorizia, and Nova Gorica. A way to concretely experience the legacy of Gorizia and Nova Gorica European Capital of Culture.
Created by the Culture, Events, and Tourism Service of the Municipality of Gorizia with the contribution of the FVG Region, Crocevie d'Europa is designed as an open and accessible cultural offering: the initiatives are free, with mandatory reservation, to allow everyone to see the city with new eyes, season after season.
The fourth edition of Crocevie d'Europa animates Gorizia from May to December 2026 with about 40 events. The calendar alternates thematic guided tours, walking and cycling itineraries, "Hop on Hop off" excursions between Grado, Gorizia, and Nova Gorica, forest bathing in Parco Piuma, cross-border routes to the Rafut pass and Kostanjevica, Great War trails, and visits to local businesses. The first event, "Jewish Gorizia", is scheduled for May 3rd.
The complete calendar with all dates is published by the Municipality of Gorizia and updated during the season.
