About Notte Bianca Mistretta

The Notte Bianca in Mistretta is the most anticipated event of the Estate Amastratina, the summer festival program of the Nebrodi village in the province of Messina. For one night, the historic center turns into a grand open-air theater: roving street bands, folk groups, stilt walkers, children's entertainment, street food, inflatables, and craft markets bring the alleys and squares to life until late at night, set against the baroque facades of one of Sicily's best-preserved historic centers.

A night of celebration in the Nebrodi village

The Notte Bianca is the highlight of the Estate Amastratina, the series of events that brings Mistretta to life throughout July and August. Perched at an altitude of nearly a thousand meters in the heart of the Nebrodi Park, in the province of Messina, Mistretta boasts one of the most extensive and well-preserved historic centers on the island: for one evening, this backdrop of churches, noble palaces, and stone alleys becomes the natural stage for the festivities.

The historic center as an open-air theater

During the Notte Bianca, the town's streets, from Via Libertà to the squares of the ancient core, are filled with music, color, and spectacle. Roving street bands accompany the public with infectious rhythms, while the Gruppo Folk Amastra showcases local musical and popular traditions, recalling the city's ancient Greco-Roman name, Amastra. There is no shortage of stilt walkers and street performers who turn every corner into a surprise.

For adults and children

The atmosphere remains vibrant until late at night thanks to a program designed for all ages: entertainment for children, inflatables, street food stalls, and craft markets that highlight the products and trades of the Nebrodi region. The free, open-access format invites residents and visitors to wander freely among performances, flavors, and workshops.

A community event

The event is organized by the La Rete della Musica association with the patronage of the Municipality of Mistretta, and is often accompanied by other events in the summer program, such as the "Dame in Sella" equestrian parade along Via Libertà. The Notte Bianca is thus one of the most cherished occasions to experience the village, rediscover its thousand-year history, and enliven its summer evenings.

Notte Bianca Mistretta — edition 2026

Once again for summer 2026, the historic center of Mistretta is preparing to host the Notte Bianca as part of the Estate Amastratina. The dates and program for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced: the event is traditionally held in August, featuring street bands, folk groups, street performers, street food, and markets scattered throughout the village streets.

The 2026 Notte Bianca in Mistretta (province of Messina) is expected as part of the Estate Amastratina, traditionally taking place in August. As of now, the official dates and program for the 2026 edition have not yet been published. Following the success of previous years, the evening is expected to bring the historic center to life with roving street bands, the Gruppo Folk Amastra, stilt walkers, children's entertainment, street food, and craft markets. The detailed program will be announced by the La Rete della Musica association and the Municipality of Mistretta.
