The patronal feast of Our Lady of Consolation at the end of August
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Nomi Festival is the most important and highly anticipated event of the year for the small town of Nomi, in the province of Trento, nestled in the heart of the Vallagarina valley along the Adige axis. It is the patronal feast dedicated to Our Lady of Consolation, traditionally celebrated on the last Sunday of August. Around this Sunday, the village experiences three days of festivities that combine religious devotion with conviviality and popular entertainment.
The festival weekend transforms the historic centre of Nomi into a vibrant celebration space. Friday kicks off the event with dinner and a rock-themed evening; Saturday is the most playful day, featuring the traditional soapy football tournament in Piazza Springa and, in the evening, a grand dance orchestra; Sunday, the religious heart of the feast, features the solemn Holy Mass in the parish church, followed in the afternoon by the solemn festival procession winding through the village streets, accompanied by the Pomarolo Band and a subsequent band concert. The day concludes with dinner and a final grand dance.
The beating heart of the event is the large festival restaurant, with hundreds of indoor and outdoor seats, where visitors can enjoy typical Trentino dishes alongside a wine bar offering tastings. The entire organizational machine is the result of the volunteer work of the Nomi Iniziative consortium, born from over twenty years of commitment by local associations: Hunters, Pro Loco, Sports Union, Alpini, Musicandolarte, and Arci, who collaborate every year to set up structures, the stage, the dance floor, and the kitchen.
More than just a food and wine festival, the Nomi event is a moment of identity that brings the entire community together: the procession with Our Lady of Consolation, the brass bands, games for children, and dance evenings reflect the tradition of Trentino village festivals, where popular faith and social life intertwine. For those visiting the Vallagarina valley at the end of summer, the Nomi Festival is an opportunity to experience the authenticity of a Trentino village in celebration.
At the moment, the official dates and programme for the 2026 edition of the Nomi Festival have not yet been announced. As per tradition, the patronal feast of Our Lady of Consolation takes place around the last Sunday of August — which in 2026 falls on August 30th — with three days of festivities in the village's historic centre, in the province of Trento.
The traditional events are expected to return in 2026: musical evenings, the restaurant managed by the Nomi Iniziative volunteers, tournaments, and, on Sunday, the solemn procession with the Pomarolo Band. The detailed programme will be published by the organizers on social media channels in the weeks preceding the event.
Nomi is located in the Vallagarina valley, in the province of Trento, a short distance from Rovereto. By car, it can be reached via the A22 Brenner motorway (Rovereto Nord exit) or the SS12 state road along the Adige. The reference railway station is Rovereto, on the Verona-Brenner line, from which you can continue by local bus or taxi.
The festival takes place in the final days of August, around the last Sunday of the month, with a three-day programme (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
Access to the festival and performances is free. The restaurant and wine bar are paid services according to the festival price list. For updated information, it is recommended to follow the social media channels of the Nomi Iniziative consortium.
