The international contemporary circus festival in Settimo Torinese
The Nice Festival is a major contemporary circus and performing arts event that brings Settimo Torinese, in the province of Turin, to life every spring. Conceived and produced by the blucinQue Nice National Production Centre — one of the few Italian centers recognized for contemporary circus — the festival turns the city into a widespread network of performance spaces, ranging from the large Chapiteau set up at Parco Lama to the Teatro Garybaldi inside La Suoneria.
For eleven days, Settimo becomes a meeting point for companies and artists from all over Europe and beyond. The program alternates between shows under the big top, evening performances at the theater, and outdoor moments designed for audiences of all ages. Alongside creations by the Compagnia blucinQue, the festival features artists from the Accademia Cirko Vertigo and international guests, using a language that mixes acrobatics, contemporary dance, physical comedy, and magic.
The Nice Festival is not just a showcase of performances. Weekday mornings are dedicated to schools, with workshops and paths designed to introduce children and teenagers to circus arts, while weekends host social circus workshops open to the public. It is a way to root the new circus into the social fabric of Settimo Torinese and the entire Turin metropolitan area.
Together with other stops organized by blucinQue Nice in Piedmont, the Settimo festival helps make the region a national reference point for contemporary circus. The event is supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Piedmont Region, the Metropolitan City of Turin, and the City of Settimo Torinese, confirming the cultural role it has earned over the years.
The fifth edition of the Nice Festival brought Settimo Torinese to life from April 30 to May 10, 2026, confirming the city as one of the Piedmontese capitals of contemporary circus. The lineup alternated between big international names, creations by the Compagnia blucinQue, and shows by artists from the Accademia Cirko Vertigo, between the Parco Lama big top and the Teatro Garybaldi.
Alongside evening shows, weekday mornings were dedicated to schools with the ABCircus and Terra Pura programs, while social circus workshops open to the public were held on weekends.
Settimo Torinese is located a few kilometers northeast of Turin. By car, it can be reached from the Turin ring road (Settimo exit); Parco Lama is on Via Don Carlo Gnocchi. By train, the Settimo Torinese station is connected to Turin Porta Nuova and Porta Susa with frequent service, and is also served by the Metropolitan Railway Service.
The Chapiteau and outdoor spaces are set up at Parco Lama; evening performances are held at the Teatro Garybaldi inside La Suoneria.
Tickets are on sale online via Vivaticket and through the blucinQue box office ([email protected], WhatsApp +39 378 3037766). Some outdoor events offer free admission.
