The Chierese automotive rally set in the hills northeast of Turin
The Castiglione Torinese Rally is one of the most popular motorsport events in the province of Turin, in Piedmont. Originally a local competition, it has quickly become a staple of the regional rally calendar, attracting crews from across Northern Italy and abroad. The event is based in the town of Castiglione Torinese, a small village overlooking the Po River about ten kilometers from Turin, from which the stages wind through the hills of the Chierese and lower Monferrato areas.
The event is organized by MAT Racing A.S.D., led by Mario Trolese with Walter Fornaca as part of the organizing team. It represents the third round of the ACI Sport Zone 1 Rally Cup, following the events in Santo Stefano Belbo and the Aosta Valley. At stake is not only the day's victory but also valuable points for the zone standings and qualification for the national finals.
The route crosses several municipalities in the Turin hills, each lending its roads to the timed stages. The most classic sections are those of Sciolze, Moncucco, and Cordova, repeated several times throughout the race day, with the service park and regrouping area set up in Settimo Torinese.
The rally is more than just a competition: along the timed sections and in the service areas, a large crowd of enthusiasts gathers to admire the race cars and soak up the atmosphere typical of Piedmontese rallies. The event is also an opportunity to discover the villages and hilly landscapes that frame the race, among vineyards, forests, and ancient castles.
The tenth edition of the Castiglione Torinese Rally marks an important milestone for the event organized by MAT Racing A.S.D. The race is valid as the third round of the ACI Sport Zone 1 Rally Cup, following Santo Stefano Belbo and the Aosta Valley. The big news for 2026 is the evening super special stage on Saturday, introduced for the first time in the event's history.
The major highlight of the tenth edition is the evening super special stage on Saturday in Lauriano (over 5 km), the first night stage ever held in the history of the Castiglione Torinese Rally. Also worth following is the long Sciolze stage (12 km), the most demanding of the program.
Castiglione Torinese is located about 11 km northeast of Turin. By car, it can be reached via the Turin ring road and the SP590; the nearest motorway exit is Settimo Torinese on the A4 Turin-Milan highway. The main railway station is in Turin, from which you can continue by car or local transport.
The special stages take place on roads closed to traffic: it is important to check the official schedule and position yourself in designated areas, respecting the instructions of the organizers and security personnel. The start and finish are in Castiglione Torinese, on Via Don Brovero. Watching the race from the sidelines of the special stages is free.
