On New Year's Eve 2025/2026, Piazza Primo Maggio hosts Udine's grand New Year's Eve in the Square. From 10:00 PM, live music with the Extrò Band and entertainment from the voices of Radio Company; around 11:30 PM, the light drone show takes off from the Castle, the only authorized pyrotechnic effect. The midnight toast is led by the mayor, while the party continues with music until 2:00 AM. The event is broadcast live by Telefriuli, coordinated by Radio Company. On the same night, the New Year's Concert with the Strauss Festival Orchester Wien takes place at the Teatro Nuovo Giovanni da Udine.
