On display until December 2026 is "Data Tunnel", a work of digital art and artificial intelligence by the artist Refik Anadol. Free entry by reservation.

A tunnel that becomes art

The Bombi Gallery, the pedestrian tunnel that connects Gorizia's center to nearby Nova Gorica, has become one of the symbolic spaces of the European Capital of Culture legacy. Here, the DAG — Digital Art Gallery has opened, presented as the largest digital gallery in Europe: approximately 1,000 square meters of curved LED surface cladding the path, transforming a transit space into an immersive experience of art and technology.

"Data Tunnel" by Refik Anadol

The protagonist of the gallery is "Data Tunnel", a work by the Turkish-American artist Refik Anadol, among the most celebrated names in international digital art. The installation uses artificial intelligence to process vast amounts of data related to the planet's ecosystems, generating continuously transforming visual and sound flows. The journey is divided into sections dedicated to the different realms of nature, preceded by an introduction showing the raw data before its reprocessing.

Art, science, and environment

"Data Tunnel" is much more than a visual spectacle: it is a reflection on the relationship between humans, nature, and technology, merging art, science, and ecology into an enveloping sensory experience. The work transforms planetary ecosystem data into poetic images, inviting visitors to view the natural world from an unprecedented perspective.

A symbol of the borderless city

Created by the Municipality of Gorizia with the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and curated by MEET, the DAG is located in the most symbolic place of cross-border Gorizia, where the border between Italy and Slovenia has become a shared passage. Open until December 2026, it is an unmissable stop for anyone visiting the border city.
