About NebrodiGusto

NebrodiGusto is the premier food and wine festival in Alcara li Fusi, a village nestled in the Nebrodi Park in the province of Messina, where local specialties meet signature haute cuisine. Two days of live cooking shows with Michelin-starred chefs, tastings of Nebrodi delicacies, live music, and the famous MasterSindaco format, which pits local mayors against each other in a culinary challenge. A journey through knowledge and flavors in the heart of Sicily.

NebrodiGusto: The flavors of the Nebrodi become a spectacle

In the village of Alcara li Fusi, set in the heart of the Nebrodi Park in the province of Messina, NebrodiGusto is the festival that celebrates the encounter between the region's top-tier food products and signature haute cuisine. For two days, the historic town center transforms into a grand stage for gastronomy, where typical Nebrodi products—cheeses, cured meats, black pork, hazelnuts, honey, mushrooms, and mountain vegetables—are reinterpreted by the creativity of Michelin-starred chefs and renowned Sicilian professionals.

Cooking shows, tastings, and top chefs

The heart of the event lies in the live cooking shows in the square, where chefs prepare their dishes on the spot, sharing stories about the local raw materials. The latest editions have featured prominent names from the Sicilian and national culinary scene, accompanied by guided tastings, spectacular barbecues, and moments dedicated to local street food. The festival also hosts talks and meetings on food and wine tourism, serving as an opportunity to reflect on the role of food as a development engine for Sicily's inland areas.

MasterSindaco: Politics at the stove

Among the most beloved formats is MasterSindaco, a cooking competition where mayors from the Nebrodi municipalities compete as ambassadors of their territory and its excellent products. It is a lighthearted yet identity-focused contest, judged by chefs and culinary personalities, which has captivated the public and become one of the festival's signature events.

A Nebrodi village waiting to be discovered

Visiting NebrodiGusto also means discovering Alcara li Fusi, an ancient village overlooking the Rocche del Crasto and immersed in the nature of the Nebrodi Park. Between alleys, squares, and mountain vistas, the festival combines taste, music, and popular tradition, offering visitors an authentic experience in the heart of the Tyrrhenian Sicily.
