Six weeks of fine wine and gourmet cuisine among the mountain vineyards of Naturno
The Naturnser Gourmet Herbst, or Naturno Gourmet Autumn, is the food and wine festival that takes place every year between mid-October and the third week of November in the village of Naturno (Naturns), located in the Vinschgau Valley in the province of Bolzano, Trentino-South Tyrol. For about six weeks, wine lovers and gourmets can enjoy a packed calendar of tastings, gourmet dinners, and cellar visits.
Naturno boasts a centuries-old winemaking tradition, evidenced by over eighty local producers who cultivate small vineyards clinging to the sunny mountain slopes. This mountain viticulture (Bergweinbau) is the core theme of the event: challenging terroirs, high altitudes, and unique microclimates create white and red wines with strong personalities, which are the undisputed stars of the festival's evenings.
The calendar is as diverse as the wine it celebrates, featuring several weekly events:
The festival, organized by the Naturno Tourist Cooperative (Tourismusgenossenschaft Naturns), takes place in a bilingual Italian-German setting, typical of the entire South Tyrol region. Situated between Merano and the Vinschgau Valley, Naturno offers visitors a mild, sunny climate even in autumn, perfect for combining tastings with walks along the trails and vineyards surrounding the village.
The Naturnser Gourmet Herbst 2026 is held in Naturno from October 17 to November 21. The program includes weekly events: visits to the mountain estates of Falkenstein and Castel Juval Unterortl, Wine & Dine dinners at partner hotels and inns (Weinberghof, Goldene Rose, Zum Adler), evening tastings at the Texel Group visitor center with wineries like Pfannenstielhof, Castel Sallegg, and Messnerhof, and the Via Vinum Venostis routes among the winemakers of Kastelbell, Tschars, and Natz. The Wine & Music evening is also scheduled for November 19.
Many events have limited capacity: booking through the Naturno tourist office is recommended.
Naturno can be reached by car via the MeBo expressway (Merano-Bolzano) by continuing along the SS38 towards the Vinschgau Valley, or by train using the Vinschgau railway line (Naturno station) from Merano.
Most events (tastings, Wine & Dine dinners, cellar visits) have limited capacity and require booking through the Naturno tourist office.
