About Rumo Music Festival

The Rumo Music Festival is a new concert series promoted by the Municipality of Rumo, in Val di Non, in collaboration with the Lucilla May APS Association of Trento. The inaugural 2026 edition features four high-quality artistic performances held from July to December across the villages of Marcena, Lanza, and Mione. From Piazzolla's tango to iconic film scores, and from classical chamber music to 17th-century sacred repertoires, the festival brings renowned performers to evocative local venues, including the auditorium, the geological park, and ancient mountain churches.

The Rumo Music Festival

The Rumo Music Festival is a new musical series launched in 2026 by the Municipality of Rumo, a small town in the Val di Non, in the province of Trento, within the Trentino-Alto Adige region. Organized in partnership with the Lucilla May APS Association of Trento, the festival offers a high-caliber artistic program designed to showcase the most characteristic spots and hamlets of the municipality.

The first edition spans the entire season, from July to December, with four events hosted in the villages of Marcena, Lanza, and Mione. Each concert is tailored to a unique setting: the auditorium, the geological park, and historic mountain churches serve as dramatic backdrops for repertoires ranging from tango to sacred music.

The 2026 Program

  • July 17 — "From Rome to Buenos Aires" at the Marcena Auditorium (8:30 PM): Bandoneon and accordion player Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi and his ensemble take the audience on a journey through the music of Ennio Morricone, Nino Rota, Astor Piazzolla, and Roberto Di Marino.
  • August 13 — "Musical Aperitif: The Greatest Film Scores" at the Marcena Geological Park (6:00 PM, moved to the auditorium in case of rain), featuring the Trio Musaikòn performing the most famous cinema soundtracks.
  • October 10 — "Autumn Harmonies" at the Church of San Vigilio in Lanza (8:30 PM): The String Quartet of the Luigi Boccherini Chamber Orchestra of Lucca performs works by Franz Schubert and Antonín Dvořák.
  • December 5 — "O quam tu pulchra es" at the Church of San Lorenzo in Mione: An evocative musical prayer dedicated to the figure of Mary within the 17th-century sacred repertoire, featuring Mauro Cristelli (tenor), Eddy Serafini (archlute), and a narrator.

A scattered mountain festival

Rumo is located in the upper Val di Non, Trentino's famous "apple valley," set in a stunning landscape of forests and peaks. The Rumo Music Festival weaves together music and local heritage, inviting the public to discover the Marcena Auditorium, the Geological Park, and the historic churches of the hamlets, creating a cultural journey that accompanies the region from summer through to Advent.

As it celebrates its first edition, the festival aims to become a cultural landmark for the Rumo community and visitors to Val di Non, combining performances by renowned artists with the discovery of the municipality's most picturesque locations.
