The festival that heralds spring in the historic center of Terranuova Bracciolini
The National Spring and Bird Fair has become a staple of the spring season in the municipality of Terranuova Bracciolini, in the province of Arezzo, in the heart of the Tuscan Valdarno. Every year, on a Sunday in late March, the historic center transforms into a large open-air exhibition, blending rural traditions with urban vitality and attracting exhibitors and curious visitors from all over Tuscany and beyond.
The event takes place mainly between Piazza della Repubblica and Via Roma, where stands and stalls create a diverse and rich itinerary. The heart of the fair is the historic section dedicated to exotic birds and farm animals, which has always drawn enthusiasts and families alike, though the offering has expanded over the years to include many other sectors.
The fair is much more than a market: it represents a moment of gathering for the community of Terranuova Bracciolini and an opportunity to rediscover the bond with the land, animals, and local products. The theme of biodiversity and nature care runs through the entire day, which is ideally linked to the spring awakening of the Valdarno countryside.
Promoted by the Municipality of Terranuova Bracciolini in collaboration with the Pro Loco, the event is considered a benchmark for tourism and the local community. Its location in the Tuscany region, a short distance from the main centers of the Valdarno and the provincial capital Arezzo, makes it easily accessible and ideal for a Sunday outing at the start of spring, filled with shopping, tastings, and strolls through the historic center.
The 2026 edition, the 11th, was held on Sunday, March 22, 2026, starting at 8:00 AM in the historic center of Terranuova Bracciolini, between Piazza della Repubblica and Via Roma.
The exhibition route featured exotic birds and farm animals, gardening and floriculture products, food and wine excellence with regional food stands and tastings, as well as a market of local handicrafts, antiques, and costume jewelry. The event, promoted by the Municipality with the Pro Loco, celebrated the awakening of spring and the bond with the rural traditions of the area.
Opening from 8:00 AM throughout the day. Exhibition route between Piazza della Repubblica and Via Roma with displays of exotic birds and farm animals, a gardening and floriculture sector, craft and antique stands, and regional food stalls with tastings.
