The municipal Christmas events calendar in Sant'Arpino, featuring squares, churches, and community spirit

Natale Insieme is the name under which the Municipality of Sant'Arpino, in the province of Caserta (Campania), gathers its Christmas events calendar. Sant'Arpino is a small town of just over fourteen thousand inhabitants located in the Atella Valley, the area north of Naples that preserves the memory of the ancient Oscan city of Atella and still retains a very strong collective identity today. Here, Christmas is not just a single event but a whole season: from the first weeks of December until Epiphany, the town transforms into a single space of widespread celebration.
The calendar changes its name almost every year — it was «Christmas Emotions» in 2024, «Natale Insieme» in 2025 — but the formula remains the same: dozens of free appointments, spread over about a month, built together with local associations, parishes, schools, and local merchants. The goal declared by the administration is to involve all age groups and strengthen the sense of community, making the town a place of meeting, sharing, and inclusion.
Although changing from year to year, the program in Sant'Arpino now has its staples. There are the Christmas concerts entrusted to young instrumentalists from the local comprehensive school and parish groups; there is entertainment for the little ones, with a covered and free Christmas camp active during school holidays; there are markets with crafts, creativity, and local products; and there is a charity thread that runs through the entire program, from charity dinners in support of hospital wards in the area north of Naples to collections promoted by associations.
A choice that distinguishes the Sant'Arpino Christmas from the calendars of neighboring towns is the attention reserved for the over-65s. Every year, the social policies department organizes a collective trip to a city in Campania or lower Lazio decorated for the holidays — the lights of Gaeta, the Salerno waterfront — accompanied by a convivial moment. It is a highly anticipated event, which gives the word «insieme» (together) in the title its most concrete meaning.
The calendar traditionally closes around January 6th. The descent of the Befana from the Palazzo Ducale and the concerts of the first days of the year mark the final act of a program that, in recent editions, has exceeded thirty events. Everything, or almost everything, is free to enter: a characteristic claimed by the municipal administration, which considers free access a necessary condition for the festival to truly belong to everyone.
Natale Insieme is not a major tourist event and does not pretend to be. It is the Christmas of a town in the Campania region within the Neapolitan metropolitan system, where the lights, the band, the markets, and the tombola still have the flavor of a shared ritual. For those visiting the Atella area during the holidays — perhaps combining the stop with the discovery of the archaeological heritage of Atella — it is the best opportunity to see the territory from the inside, without filters.
As of this writing, the Municipality of Sant'Arpino has not yet announced the 2026 Christmas calendar. In recent editions, the programming was presented as the holidays approached and took place from the first days of December until January 6th, with dozens of free events in Piazza Macrì, Piazzetta della Resistenza, Palazzo Ducale, and the parish of Sant'Elpidio Vescovo.
It is reasonable to expect a similar structure for 2026 as well — concerts, markets, children's entertainment, charity initiatives, and events dedicated to the over-65s — but nothing is confirmed yet. To find out dates, locations, and the program, we recommend following the Municipality's institutional website and the official Facebook page, where the schedule is published every year.
The events take place in the center of Sant'Arpino (CE): Piazza Macrì (seat of the Municipality), Piazzetta della Resistenza, Palazzo Ducale, the parish of Sant'Elpidio Vescovo, and the local schools.
The events of the municipal calendar are generally free. Some specific initiatives (charity dinners, trips for the over-65s) may require booking at the municipal offices.
Municipality of Sant'Arpino — Piazza Macrì 1, 81030 Sant'Arpino (CE) — phone +39 081 5014511. The updated program is published every year on the institutional website and on the Municipality's Facebook page, usually in the second half of November or early December.
The Sundays of December are the days with the most events in the square: it is the best time for a family visit. During the Christmas period, it is advisable to check the times on official channels, as the calendar may be subject to changes due to weather conditions.
