The boutique travelling festival through the villages of the Terre di Pisa stops at the Torre di San Matteo in Montopoli
For over twenty years, Musicastrada Festival has been the travelling music event crossing the Terre di Pisa, bringing high-quality concerts to the squares, churches, and monuments of the province's small villages. Founded in 2000, the festival has made its widespread and "boutique" nature its trademark: no large arenas, but intimate settings where the audience listens just steps away from the artists, often at sunset or under the stars. In 2026, one of the most anticipated stops is Montopoli in Val d'Arno, in the heart of Tuscany.
The Montopoli leg takes place on July 24th and 25th, 2026, in the scenic space at the foot of the Torre di San Matteo, a 15th-century tower offering a 360-degree panorama of the territory, from the Apuan Alps to the Pistoia Apennines.
A line-up that perfectly captures the spirit of Musicastrada: the singer-songwriter style of Giulia Mei, the Brazilian pop energy of Selton, and the experimental electronic voice of Sarafine alternate over two evenings with different vibes but the same care for production and listening experience.
The 2026 edition introduces suspended tickets: those who purchase their own ticket can add another one for those who cannot afford it. The distribution of these solidarity tickets is managed in collaboration with the Cooperativa Sociale Arnera of Pontedera, in line with the festival's inclusive mission.
Montopoli is just one of the stops on a schedule that, in 2026, touches numerous municipalities in the province of Pisa, from Castelfranco di Sotto to Calci, from Pontedera to San Miniato, and up to Pomarance. Supported by local municipalities, the Tuscany Region, the Ministry of Culture, and the Fondazione Pisa, Musicastrada is now a staple of the Tuscan summer and one of the best ways to discover the villages of the Province of Pisa through music.
What makes Musicastrada special is the choice of locations: historic, panoramic, and intimate spaces capable of turning a concert into an experience. The Torre di San Matteo, symbol of Montopoli, provides a perfect setting for summer evenings where landscape, music, and conviviality blend into a unique Tuscan experience.
Concerts take place in the evening at the Torre di San Matteo, in the intimate and cozy setting typical of the festival.
