The Musicastrada Festival is one of the most beloved travelling festivals in Tuscany: a "boutique festival" that spends every summer touring the most evocative corners of the province of Pisa, turning squares, cloisters, villas, and monuments into open-air stages. Established in the late nineties and organized by the Musicastrada Association, the festival weaves together singer-songwriter music, landscapes, fine food and wine, craft beers, and guided tours, offering a cultural experience that goes far beyond a simple concert.

In the Municipality of San Miniato, an ancient hilltop village overlooking the lower Arno Valley, the festival finds one of its most scenic settings: the Piazza del Duomo, dominated by the cathedral and the Rocca di Federico II. It is here that, edition after edition, music resonates at sunset among the stones and panoramas of Tuscany.

The 27th edition of the Musicastrada Festival takes place from July 10 to August 2, 2026, involving numerous municipalities in the Pisa area, from Castelfranco di Sotto to Pomarance. The San Miniato stop is scheduled for Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 7:45 PM, in Piazza del Duomo, featuring a concert by Carmen Consoli.

The singer-songwriter from Catania presents her project "Radici e Resistenza", an intense musical journey that intertwines memory, identity, and contemporary life, featuring both her greatest hits and new interpretations. The evening opens with a powerful monologue by Benedetta Giuntini, based on a text by Firenza Guidi, inspired by a true event that took place right in this square.

A festival that travels through the villages

The philosophy of Musicastrada is that of a widespread and sustainable festival that celebrates the territory and its communities. The 2026 edition includes stops at landmarks such as the Monumental Charterhouse of Calci, the Rocca Sillana in Pomarance, the Palazzo Pretorio in Vicopisano, and many village squares. One of the highlights of the 27th edition is the "suspended ticket" initiative, created in collaboration with the Arnera Social Cooperative: those who wish can purchase extra tickets for those who cannot afford to attend, promoting cultural inclusion and accessibility.
