The soul of New Orleans in the heart of the Tuscan Valdera
Jazz Peccioli - The New Orleans Experience is the inaugural edition of a festival that brings the soul of the world's jazz capital to the heart of the Valdera, in the province of Pisa. From July 6th to 11th, 2026, the village of Peccioli will transform into a fragment of Louisiana: streets, squares, and theaters will host widespread concerts, brass band parades, itinerant performances, and jam sessions that recreate the vibrant atmosphere of New Orleans, blending African-American roots, brass sounds, and contemporary innovation.
The festival stems from the official twinning between the Municipality of Peccioli and the city of New Orleans, established on September 26, 2025, by the signatures of Mayor Renzo Macelloni and Mayor LaToya Cantrell. The agreement fosters stable cooperation in cultural, educational, and tourism sectors between two communities that are geographically distant but united by a passion for music. For Peccioli, already famous for its open-air museum and contemporary art installations, this new event represents another milestone in its cultural vocation, which has made the small Tuscan town a national case study.
The artistic direction is entrusted to Adonis Rose, a Grammy Award-winning drummer who leads the prestigious New Orleans Jazz Orchestra (NOJO). Alongside him, many of the most representative names from the New Orleans scene will perform: Andromeda Turre, Sean Ardoin, Sabine McCalla, Phillip Manuel, the Alexey Marti Group, the Amina Scott Quintet, the Jesse McBride Trio, the Seth Finch Ensemble, and the overwhelming LSU Brass Band, the star of the daily second line-style parades.
The program goes beyond evening stages. Every day, the streets of the historic center will be brought to life by parades, performances by the Baby Doll Grand Marshal, and moments of street music that involve both residents and visitors. The festival also includes educational workshops for local students, designed to share the history and evolution of New Orleans music, from the marching band tradition to contemporary jazz.
Jazz Peccioli is part of the broader summer program of the 11 Lune festival, organized by the Fondazione Peccioliper, which enlivens Peccioli and the hamlets of the Valdera throughout July with music, theater, and entertainment. It is the ideal setting for an event that aims to become a landmark for jazz lovers in Tuscany and across Italy.
The 2026 inaugural edition of Jazz Peccioli brings the immersive experience of New Orleans music to an Italian village for the first time. From July 6th to 11th, the streets, squares, and theaters of Peccioli will host evening concerts, daily parades by the LSU Brass Band, second line performances with the Baby Doll Grand Marshal, and educational workshops for local students. The festival is part of the 11 Lune summer program by the Fondazione Peccioliper and also involves the surrounding hamlets and municipalities of the Valdera.
The festival is directed by Adonis Rose, a Grammy Award-winning drummer and leader of the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra (NOJO).
The detailed day-by-day program, with times and precise locations for individual concerts, will be published on the official website jazzpeccioli.com closer to the event.
Peccioli is located in the province of Pisa, in the heart of the Valdera. By car, it can be reached via the FI-PI-LI highway (Pontedera exit), continuing towards Valdera; the nearest train station is Pontedera-Casciana Terme, which is connected to Peccioli by local bus lines.
Concert tickets are available for purchase online via the clappit.com and ticketone.it platforms, as well as at the 11 Lune box office with no pre-sale fees. Parades and events held throughout the historic center are, in many cases, free to attend.
We recommend booking accommodation in advance: Peccioli and the villages of the Valdera offer farmhouses and hotels that fill up quickly during the high season.
