The festival of the Colfiorito Red Potato IGP

The Market Exhibition and Festival of the Colfiorito Red Potato celebrates one of the symbolic products of the Foligno mountains: the Patata Rossa di Colfiorito IGP. It takes place in Colfiorito, a hamlet of Foligno (province of Perugia), on the homonymous Apennine plateau on the border between Umbria and Marche.

A unique product

The Colfiorito Red Potato IGP is recognizable by its elongated oval shape, thin reddish skin, and light yellow flesh. Its unmistakable flavor comes from the high-altitude siliceous soils and the cool mountain climate: characteristics that make it a prized variety, protected by the IGP mark.

Gastronomy and market exhibition

In the large square of Colfiorito, the food stands offer traditional potato-based dishes: gnocchi, baked potatoes, and the famous sweet potato ring cake. Alongside the food, there is a market exhibition of typical products and local crafts, workshops for children, and evening entertainment with live music and a DJ area for the younger crowd.

Organized by the Pro Loco of Colfiorito (local tourism board), the sagra is a highly anticipated end-of-summer event, successfully combining the promotion of an excellent product with the conviviality of a village festival.
