The Umbrian cuisine of the cook-housewives in the village of Rivotorto
The Rassegna Antichi Sapori di Rivotorto is one of the most beloved gastronomic events of the summer in Assisi (province of Perugia). It takes place in Rivotorto, a hamlet linked to Franciscan memory, and celebrates traditional Umbrian cuisine prepared according to recipes of the past.
The secret of the festival lies precisely in the cook-housewives, capable of transforming every dish - even the simplest - into an authentic delicacy. The food stands offer a different menu each evening, with specialties of Umbrian cuisine, accompanied by live music and shows for all ages.
Organized by the Pro Loco of Rivotorto, the event is an occasion for conviviality and enhancement of the Assisi territory. Between good food, entertainment, and a village atmosphere, it is the summer meeting place for the community and many visitors.
From August 14 to 23, 2026, Rivotorto will once again smell of Umbrian cuisine with the 36th Rassegna Antichi Sapori. Ten evenings enlivened by the cook-housewives, who offer a different menu each night, from local traditional specialties to the simplest dishes reinterpreted with mastery.
