More Than Jazz

When Udine becomes the capital of jazz

For several weeks, from late spring to mid-summer, Udine and Friuli are filled with the notes of More Than Jazz, the festival by the cooperative SimulArte. More than just a concert series, it's a cultural project that each year chooses a theme and explores it through major international jazz names and emerging talents, in some of the most beautiful locations in the city and region.

Concerts in exceptional settings

The strength of More Than Jazz also lies in its venues. These range from the Piazzale del Castello in Udine, a panoramic balcony over the city, to the intimate Corte Morpurgo, as well as the spaces of the new Cavallerizza and the evocative Vigne Museum in Rosazzo, nestled among the vineyards of the Colli Orientali del Friuli. Each concert thus becomes an experience that combines music, architecture, and landscape.

A dialogue between worlds

The festival loves to build narratives: each edition revolves around a common thread that links the musical program to the history and identity of Friuli, from transatlantic migrations to the intersections of sonic languages from different continents. World jazz stars and ensembles of young musicians from European academies take turns on stage.

An event of international scope

Supported by local institutions, More Than Jazz has established itself as one of the reference jazz events in the Northeast, capable of bringing world-famous artists to Udine while simultaneously showcasing Friuli's landscape and wine heritage.
