The Apulian craft beer festival in Montemesola
Launched in 2024 by the Milan Club "Saverio Aloia" of Montemesola, the Montemesola Beer Fest has quickly established itself as one of the most anticipated summer events in this small town in the province of Taranto, Puglia. The formula is simple yet effective: putting Apulian craft beer center stage, paired with delicious food and live music nights that bring the town center to life.
The heart of the festival is Largo Osanna, which transforms into a true "piazza of flavors" for the occasion. Between the brewery stalls and food stands, the area becomes an open-air lounge where people gather under the August stars. Montemesola, a village of just over three thousand inhabitants north of the Ionian capital, thus rediscovers itself as a hub of summer conviviality.
The undisputed star is regional brewing: the taps feature labels from various Apulian craft breweries, with options also available for those seeking alternatives like gluten-free beer. The food area, expanded with each edition, highlights local excellence: from fried panzerotti to grilled meats, including options for various dietary needs, such as vegan and gluten-free choices.
Each evening is accompanied by live concerts and performances: bands, orchestras, and musical formats ranging from classic dance hits to high-energy sounds, turning Largo Osanna into an open-air dance floor until late at night. It is this combination of taste and entertainment that has driven the festival's growing success.
More than just a beer festival, the Montemesola Beer Fest has become a defining moment for the community: an opportunity to enliven the town, support local producers, and welcome visitors from neighboring municipalities. Admission is free, and the atmosphere is that of a genuine Apulian village feast, where tradition and the joy of being together meet.
The third edition of the Montemesola Beer Fest, scheduled for August 7 and 8, 2026, at Largo Osanna, promises to be the most ambitious yet. The organizers from the Milan Club "Saverio Aloia", through president Rocco Orlando, have stated their intention to "raise the bar" compared to previous editions, consolidating the event's growth.
The focus remains on Apulian craft beer, accompanied by a food court redesigned to offer a more varied selection catering to different dietary needs, including gluten-free beer options. The musical program features the Nostalgia 90 format, dedicated to the greatest hits of the 90s, and the band Avvocati Divorzisti.
