Organ concerts in Selva di Fasano, between Puglia and Europe
The International Organ Festival – Progetto Jobel is one of the most long-standing and refined musical events in the municipality of Fasano, in the province of Brindisi. For over twenty years, it has brought the great European organ repertoire into the woods and trulli of Selva di Fasano, the hillside hamlet overlooking the Murgia, the olive-covered plains, and the Adriatic Sea. Every summer, the festival transforms a small church into an exceptional listening space, where the sound of the organ engages in a dialogue with the architecture and the surrounding landscape.
The concerts take place in the Church of Maria SS.ma Addolorata, known to everyone as the «Trullo del Signore» (the Lord's Trullo) due to its characteristic conical stone roof, reminiscent of the trulli of the Itria Valley. It is one of the most beloved corners of Selva di Fasano: an intimate setting with enveloping acoustics, ideal for sacred music and the timbre of the organ. The choice of this venue inextricably links the festival to the identity of the Apulian territory.
The hallmark of the festival is its international scope: alongside Italian organists, concert performers from Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, and other European countries—often conservatory professors and winners of prestigious competitions—take the stage. The repertoire ranges from German and French Baroque to Romantic and contemporary music, offering the audience a journey through the great organ literature.
All concerts are free of charge and begin in the evening. The festival, promoted by the Progetto Jobel association under the patronage of the Municipality of Fasano, is part of the rich WOW! Fasano summer program, which brings together around eighty events including music, tradition, and performance from June to September. The season concludes at the end of December with the highly anticipated Christmas Concert, a traditional appointment for the community of Selva and Fasano.
For the 2026 edition, Progetto Jobel confirms its European vocation: on the stage of the Church of the Trullo del Signore in Selva di Fasano, organists from Germany, Naples, Taranto, and Hungary will take turns. All concerts are free of charge and begin at 8:00 PM. The festival is part of the WOW!
