MonteKolor, the festival that colors Montecavolo

Every June, the hamlet of Montecavolo, in the Municipality of Quattro Castella (province of Reggio Emilia, Emilia-Romagna), transforms into a large festival space with MonteKolor. Born as a neighborhood initiative, the event has grown edition after edition to become one of the most anticipated events of the Matildic summer, capable of bringing together sport, music, gastronomy, and fun for all ages.

An event between sport and music

The heart of MonteKolor beats around the school complex on Via Togliatti, where the courts, stages, and stalls are set up. The three days alternate sports competitions and entertainment moments: from the Erika Reverberi Memorial beach volleyball tournament, now a tradition, to basketball tournaments for youth categories, to dance performances and concerts.

The evenings are accompanied by DJ sets, retro music, country dancing, and the famous Marabù Music Festival, which opens the festivities. There is also the most colorful and popular moment of the entire festival: the MonteKolor non-competitive run, a walk-run immersed in colors and music that involves young and old along the town's streets.

Taste and conviviality

Every evening, from 6:30 PM, the food stalls open with aperitifs and restaurant service: an opportunity to gather under the stars and enjoy the flavors of Emilian cuisine in good company. The convivial dimension is one of the keys to MonteKolor's success, which maintains the authentic spirit of a village festival.

A festival with a purpose

MonteKolor is not just about fun: part of the proceeds from sports activities are allocated to solidarity projects and the improvement of community spaces. Organized by Proloco Matildica together with Fit4MoveClub, with the support of the Municipality of Quattro Castella, the event thus combines the desire to be together with a concrete commitment to the local area.
