The massive, free village dedicated to children and families in the Pineta park
Montecatini Kids is the free event that dedicates an entire Sunday to little ones in the green heart of the spa town. The festival takes place in the famous Pineta of Montecatini Terme, in the area surrounding the Casa della Prevenzione As.Va.L.T, transforming the park into a large, child-friendly village. It is the local leg of the touring Toscana Kids format, which brings the same family-focused celebration model to various cities across the region.
The heart of the event is the Sports Village, where children can try out numerous disciplines for free thanks to local sports associations: athletics, basketball, archery, skating, tennis, and taekwondo. Alongside sports, the Pineta hosts creative workshops, group games, baby dance, face painting, and balloon art throughout the day, as well as nature-based experiences such as birdwatching and botanical-themed labs.
Among the most popular attractions are the falconry area, with demonstrations and displays of birds of prey, and the pony experience, which draw families for the entire duration of the event. There is also space dedicated to musical and themed entertainment for the little ones. A particularly significant moment is the focus on pediatric safety, with practical demonstrations of airway obstruction maneuvers designed to teach parents life-saving techniques.
Montecatini Kids is born from the collaboration between the Municipality of Montecatini Terme, in the province of Pistoia, and the organization IB Communication, with the support of partners and numerous local sports and cultural associations. Free admission and the setting of the Pineta make it one of the most well-attended family events in the Valdinievole, attracting hundreds of families from all over Tuscany.
The first edition of Montecatini Kids took place in the Pineta of Montecatini Terme, in the area of the Casa della Prevenzione As.Va.L.T. Scheduled for Sunday, May 10, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM, it was held on the following Sunday, May 17, due to bad weather.
