Four days of sport, music, and wellness on the beach of Mondello
The Mondello Sport Festival is the event that, every spring, turns the famous beach of Mondello, in the Municipality of Palermo, into a large village dedicated to sport, wellness, and music. Promoted and organized by Tonica srl, led by Francesco Tomasello and Alessandro Restivo, with the patronage of the Municipality of Palermo and the Sicilian Region, the event brings four days of energy to the promenade of one of Sicily's most beloved seaside destinations.
The heart of the festival is sport, experienced in an open and inclusive way. On the courts set up by the sea, exhibitions and tournaments of beach volleyball, padel, and footvolley take place, while the waters of the gulf host aquatic sports such as surfing, windsurfing, and SUP. There is no shortage of fitness and holistic disciplines, with yoga, calisthenics, crossfit, and cycling sessions open to all ages. Activities are managed by local sports associations and organizations, offering guided lessons and trials accessible even to those simply looking to try a new discipline.
A unique feature of the event is its focus on health: a dedicated area allows visitors to undergo free screenings for blood glucose and blood pressure, with pharmacists and nutritionists on hand to raise awareness about healthy lifestyles. Sport thus becomes an opportunity for prevention and wellness education.
As the sun sets, the village lights up with concerts and DJ sets featuring nationally and internationally acclaimed artists, including names such as Zero Assoluto, Il Pagante, DJ Tennis, Mr. Belt & Wezol, and Koko. The beach turns into an open-air dance floor, with pop, electronic, and dance music creating a festive atmosphere that lasts until late at night.
The offering is completed by a food & drinks area with food trucks, relaxation zones, and spaces designed for families. Free and open-air, the Mondello Sport Festival is now a staple of early May that showcases an active lifestyle, the sea, and the identity of the Palermitan seaside village, helping to promote Mondello as a premier tourist destination in Sicily.
The second edition of the Mondello Sport Festival was held from April 30 to May 3, 2026, on the promenade of Mondello, in Palermo, confirming the formula that combines sport, wellness, and music. On the courts by the sea, tournaments and exhibitions of beach volleyball, padel, and footvolley took place, alongside water sports (surfing, windsurfing, SUP) and yoga, calisthenics, and cycling sessions.
On May 1st, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the Fenomeno da spiaggia challenge took place in collaboration with Palermo Calcio, open to participants of all ages. A new feature of this edition was the Health Stand, with pharmacists and nutritionists providing free blood glucose and blood pressure screenings and prevention activities.
Music lit up the evenings: Friday, May 1st from 8:00 PM with Vivona & Sossa, then DJ Tennis (9:30 PM) and Qobra (11:30 PM); Saturday, May 2nd, Koko (9:30 PM) and Mr. Belt & Wezol (11:00 PM); Sunday, May 3rd, the Cirrone Band in the afternoon and, as a grand finale, Zero Assoluto at 9:30 PM.
