In the Church of Borgonuovo, a hamlet of Piuro, Georg Friedrich Händel's Messiah is performed, one of the absolute masterpieces of the oratorio repertoire. The performance is entrusted to the ensemble Ut Insieme Vocale Consonante, conducted by Lorenzo Donati, in an event described as "a grand act of collective memory".

The concert falls on the 408th anniversary of the landslide that buried Piuro on September 4, 1618.
