Over 130,000 tulips in bloom in the park of Pralormo Castle
Every year, between late March and early May, the park of Pralormo Castle heralds the arrival of spring with a spectacular bloom: over 130,000 tulips and daffodils turn the historic garden into a sea of color. Messer Tulipano is now one of the most beloved floral events in Piedmont, held in the town of Pralormo, a small village in the Province of Turin located about 30 kilometers from the regional capital, bordering the Asti area.
The setting is the English-style park designed in the 19th century by the famous court architect Xavier Kurten, who also designed many gardens for the Savoy residences. Amidst ancient trees, winding paths, and romantic vistas, the bulb bloom creates a trail that changes its appearance week by week, following the rhythm of nature. The Castle has been home to the Beraudo di Pralormo family since the 17th century, and the Counts themselves have been curating this event for over twenty years.
Walking along the paths, you will encounter hundreds of varieties, from classic tulips to the most curious ones:
The twenty-sixth edition, scheduled from March 28 to April 26, 2026, features the new Solofiori exhibition, hosted in the Orangerie and curated by art historian Marcella Pralormo: paintings, travel journals, and small sculptures by contemporary Piedmontese artists dedicated to the theme of flowers. Other attractions include the 19th-century Parisian greenhouse with orchids, the 'bird path' for children, re-enactments by the Savoy Nobility, and the famous Count's Little Train, a miniature railway system housed in the castle halls.
Throughout the opening period, the calendar is packed with side events: watercolor workshops, art and meditative wellness trails within the exhibition, live painting performances, and creative workshops for children. There is also a shopping area featuring local gastronomic excellence, a bar-restaurant, and large picnic areas, all in a setting designed for families and those traveling with dogs.
