About Terra Natale

Terra Natale is the traveling Christmas celebration of Isera, a village in the Vallagarina valley in the province of Trento. Throughout the Advent season, the hamlets of Patone, Lenzima, Marano, and the center of Isera light up in turn with local producers' markets, concerts, animated readings, taverns serving traditional dishes, and the arrival of Santa Claus. It is a widespread, free, family-friendly event organized by the Municipality of Isera and the local Pro Loco, inviting visitors to discover the beauty of the village amidst mulled wine, Christmas carols, and local food and wine specialties.

A widespread Christmas across the hamlets of Isera

Terra Natale is the traveling Christmas event of the Municipality of Isera, in Vallagarina, in the Autonomous Province of Trento. Unlike classic Christmas markets concentrated in a single square, Terra Natale moves from week to week between the village's hamlets — Patone, Lenzima, Marano, and the center of Isera — transforming every corner of the town into a small Advent village. The goal is to showcase the architectural and landscape beauty of the area while promoting local producers and community traditions.

Markets, flavors, and music

The heart of the event is the producers' market, featuring stalls with handicrafts, local products, and food and wine specialties from the Vallagarina valley. There is no shortage of taverns serving traditional Trentino dishes, mulled wine, hot chocolate, and polenta concia at the various stops of the festival. The days are accompanied by accordion players, children's choirs, gospel concerts, and entertainment designed for children, such as Santa's village and pastry workshops.

The stops in the hamlets

  • Patone opens the festival with the tree lighting, taverns, and shows;
  • Lenzima features the traditional 'beganate' sung by children, the tree lighting, and mulled wine;
  • Marano celebrates Saint Lucy with a religious service, a parade, and polenta concia;
  • Isera concludes with the grand Christmas market on the Belvedere, featuring craft stalls, culinary specialties, and concerts.

A community tradition

Organized by the Municipality of Isera together with the Pro Loco, the Library Network, and with the support of APT Rovereto and Vallagarina, Terra Natale takes place every year during the Christmas season and has become a highly anticipated event for local families. Admission to all activities is free. Isera, also famous for its Marzemino wine and the vineyard landscape of the Vallagarina, offers an intimate and authentic atmosphere during this period, far from the crowds of large markets, making it ideal for those seeking a mountain Christmas on a village scale.

Terra Natale — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of Terra Natale in Isera has not yet been officially announced. The traveling Christmas event normally returns every year during Advent in the hamlets of Patone, Lenzima, Marano, and the center of Isera, featuring local markets, concerts, and traditional taverns. Dates and the detailed program will be announced by the Municipality of Isera and the Pro Loco in the preceding weeks.

The dates and program for the 2026 edition of Terra Natale in Isera have not yet been published. As this is a recurring festival, it is likely that the event will take place again this year during the Advent period, with the usual stops in the village hamlets. For updated information, it is recommended to contact the Municipality of Isera or the Pro Loco.
