The Merano Magic Festival is one of Italy's most significant events dedicated to the art of magic. Every autumn, it transforms Merano—an elegant spa town in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige—into an enchanted stage where wonder, mystery, and entertainment merge into one grand celebration of illusion. The event draws illusionists and mentalists from across the globe, offering a show capable of captivating audiences of all ages.

A history born in 2013

The festival began on a spring evening in 2013 through the initiative of a group of enthusiasts and has grown year after year to become a national benchmark for the art of magic. Over its various editions, it has brought dozens of international artists to Merano, attracting thousands of spectators and gaining the support of numerous local partners. Today, it is firmly established in the Merano cultural calendar, in dialogue with the city's other major autumn events.

The Kursaal, the heart of the festival

The highlight of the event is the Magic Gala, held in the main hall of the Kursaal, part of the historic Kurhaus of Merano: one of the most fascinating and elegant Art Nouveau buildings in the entire Alpine region, overlooking the promenade along the Passirio River. The refined setting of the building helps create the suspended and evocative atmosphere that characterizes the show.

The program

The festival is divided into several moments, designed to guide the audience into the world of magic:

• Magic Gala: the grand international show at the Kursaal, featuring illusionists and mentalists alternating on stage with high-impact acts;
• Taste & Magic Aperitif: an evening where close-up magic acts alternate with a refined culinary selection;
• Opening in the city: sleight-of-hand and magic among the shop windows and streets of the center, which officially open the event.
