Free concerts, farm-to-table food, and local crafts in Cenaia
The MelaSòno Music Fest is one of the most anticipated summer events in Cenaia, a vibrant village in the municipality of Crespina Lorenzana, in the province of Pisa (Tuscany). Originally created as a showcase for local emerging bands, the festival has grown over the years to host major names in the Italian music scene, while maintaining the spirit that makes it special: completely free live concerts, high-quality artistic programming, and a strong focus on community and conviviality.
The event is organized by the Caricamente Cultural Association and is held under the patronage of the Municipality of Crespina Lorenzana and with the support of Regione Toscana – Giovanisì, as part of Tuscany's cultural and musical festivals dedicated to youth. The evenings feature a diverse range of genres — rock, ska, punk, reggae, folk, and singer-songwriter music — alternating between local and Tuscan opening acts and nationally acclaimed artists. Over the years, the MelaSòno stage has hosted names such as Punkreas, Giancane, Tonino Carotone, España Circo Este, 99 Posse, and Piotta.
MelaSòno is much more than a concert series: it is a village festival designed for all ages. Every evening, starting at 8:00 PM, a restaurant serves traditional local dishes made with farm-to-table ingredients, including a fully vegetarian option, alongside a pub area and a sandwich stand. A craft market featuring local exhibitors winds through the park, while creative workshops and games are organized for children. It is a perfect blend of music, gastronomy, and social life that captures the convivial spirit of Tuscan summers.
The evenings are held in Cenaia, at the Spazio Festa on Via Giacomo Brodolini, easily accessible by car from the Pisa area and the lower Valdera region. Admission to the concerts is free, a choice that confirms the festival's popular and inclusive nature.
The MelaSòno Music Fest 2026 returns to Cenaia, a village in Crespina Lorenzana in the province of Pisa, from July 17 to 19, 2026. The formula that made the event famous is confirmed: three nights of live concerts with free admission, featuring emerging bands and prominent names from the Italian scene.
Alongside the music, the food and wine offerings return with the farm-to-table restaurant (including a vegetarian menu), the pub area, the craft market, and entertainment for children. Concerts generally start at 9:30 PM.
The detailed program and line-up for the 2026 edition have not yet been published by the organizers. Based on previous editions, we expect three nights with a nationally acclaimed artist or group each evening, preceded by a local or Tuscan opening act, alternating between rock, ska, punk, reggae, and singer-songwriter music.
Updates on the line-up will be communicated on the festival's official Facebook and Instagram channels in the weeks preceding the event.
