International track and field meeting in Valsugana
Meeting Pergine is an international track and field meeting that transforms the Stadio Cassa Rurale at the Vigalzano Municipal Sports Center in Pergine Valsugana (Autonomous Province of Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige) into a stage for Italian champions and international athletes every June. Organized by Polisportiva Oltrefersina in collaboration with Asd Non Solo Running, the event features a long evening of competitions, including sprints, middle-distance, hurdles, jumps, and throws, before a large crowd and with free admission.
Launched in 2023, the event has seen constant growth with each edition, now hosting over five hundred registered athletes and a top-tier technical lineup. The meeting has established itself as one of the most anticipated stops on the Trentino summer athletics calendar, successfully combining the appeal of big names with space reserved for young athletes during the PreMeeting that opens the program in the afternoon.
The track and field at Pergine have witnessed truly remarkable performances. Shot putter Leonardo Fabbri, a European champion and world medalist, is one of the meeting's headline guests, as is Trentino middle-distance runner Yeman Crippa, who has used the Pergine track to chase and achieve qualifying standards for major international events in the 10,000 meters. Alongside them, sprinters, hurdlers, and jumpers from the national and international circuits compete.
Meeting Pergine is more than just a competition: it is a sporting celebration for the entire Valsugana valley. During the evening, the atmosphere is enlivened by music and entertainment, set within a sporting context immersed in the Trentino landscape, just a stone's throw from Lake Caldonazzo. The event, which is free and open to everyone, combines a passion for high-level athletics with the grassroots, family-friendly spirit of local sports.
The fourth edition of Meeting Pergine was held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Stadio Cassa Rurale of the Vigalzano Municipal Sports Center in Pergine Valsugana. The program kicked off in the afternoon with the PreMeeting and youth competitions, before reaching its peak in the evening with the main events.
A major highlight was the Trentino middle-distance runner Yeman Crippa, who ran the 10,000 meters—a new addition to this year's program as the closing event—in 27:43.23, achieving the qualifying standard for the European Championships. In the shot put, European champion Leonardo Fabbri threw 22.14 meters, challenged by Zane Weir. The track and field events included 100m, 400m, and 800m races, 400m hurdles, long jump, shot put, and javelin, with over five hundred athletes competing and free admission.
The Stadio Cassa Rurale is located at the Vigalzano Municipal Sports Center in Pergine Valsugana (TN). By car, it can be reached via the SS47 Valsugana road, taking the Pergine exit. By train, the Pergine Valsugana station is served by the Trento-Bassano del Grappa line; from the station, the sports facility is just a few minutes away.
Admission is free. The PreMeeting featuring youth competitions kicks off in the afternoon, while the main events take place in the evening. Arriving early is recommended to secure a spot.
