The Marathon des Sables arrives in Italy

For the very first time, the famous Marathon des Sables brand — born in 1986 with the legendary ultramarathon in the Moroccan desert — brings its Crazy Loops format to Italy, choosing Courmayeur, at the foot of Mont Blanc, in Valle d'Aosta. A debut that brings one of the world's most recognizable endurance events to the valley.

24 hours on a loop circuit

The formula is simple and inclusive: 24 hours of running, day and night, along a loop circuit of about 3-5 kilometers to be covered freely. You can participate alone or as a team, running or walking, without a minimum time to respect. The focus is on staying active and sharing the collective experience, in a context where — as the organizers explain — 'differences become collective strength'.

An inclusive event

The distinctive feature of Crazy Loops is inclusion: able-bodied athletes and people with disabilities share the same path. 'Handi' teams are planned, supported by 'Helping Runners', in a format that makes participation and solidarity the true goal. A format that brings the community spirit typical of great running adventures to Courmayeur, in the province of Aosta.
