The big outdoor May Day festival in Spoltore
Every May 1st, Parco Santa Teresa in Spoltore, in the province of Pescara, becomes the beating heart of Labor Day in the Abruzzo style. The event, renamed Loft128 Marathon, is organized by the local Loft128 in collaboration with ASD Polisportiva RSCN and with the patronage of the Municipality of Spoltore. For fourteen consecutive hours, from 10 a.m. until the stroke of midnight, the large green lung between Via Gran Sasso and Piazza Marino Di Resta fills with music, the scent of arrosticini, and a desire to be together.
The program is designed as a true sonic marathon. The morning and afternoon are marked by long DJ sets from Kapes and Pino Titta DJ, while entertainment is provided by Francesco Luciani and Dave_YS. In the evening, live bands take the stage: Scena Muta energizes the crowd with an engaging repertoire, followed by the grand rock finale by Kom_4K, a tribute band dedicated to Vasco Rossi. The result is a soundtrack that combines dancing, singing, and Italian rock notes until late at night.
The event is organized into thematic areas that make the day suitable for families, groups of friends, and food lovers:
Born as a May Day celebration, the event has taken on a strong identity value for Spoltore and the entire Pescara district over the years. The organizers have always emphasized the deep meaning of the occasion as a moment of unity among all workers, regardless of political views. The formula, which weaves together popular music, local gastronomy, and spaces for families, has made the Loft128 Marathon one of the most attended outdoor events in the area, capable of drawing thousands of people to Parco Santa Teresa in a single day.
Admission is free, but online registration is highly recommended to enjoy the day without queuing at the entrance. The outdoor location, nestled in the greenery of Santa Teresa di Spoltore, is easily accessible from Pescara and neighboring towns.
On May 1st, 2026, Parco Santa Teresa in Spoltore hosted a new record-breaking edition of the Loft128 Marathon, with over 5,000 attendees. From 10 a.m. to midnight, DJ sets by Kapes and Pino Titta DJ, entertainment by Francesco Luciani and Dave_YS, and evening concerts by Scena Muta and Kom_4K (a Vasco Rossi tribute band) for the grand rock finale, followed one another. The food and drink areas offered arrosticini, cold cuts, cheeses, and street food, while the kids' area with inflatables enlivened the families' day.
