The black gold of the Vicenza mountains in Marana
In the Vicenza Prealps, the hamlet of Marana, in the Municipality of Crespadoro in the province of Vicenza, cherishes a precious tradition: the harvesting of truffles, the "black gold" that has been part of the local gastronomic culture for centuries. The Marana Truffle Festival pays homage to it every October, on a festive Sunday in the small mountain village.
The program includes the competition and exhibition of local truffles, with the awarding of the best specimens, and an indoor gastronomic stand open all day. On the menu are the classics enhanced by black truffle: tagliatelle, risotto, polenta, and local cheeses, accompanied by local wines.
Alongside good food, the festival offers musical moments, such as performances by mountain choirs, which tell the alpine soul of this corner of the Vicenza region. Organized by the Pro Loco of Crespadoro, the Marana Truffle Festival is an opportunity to discover an excellent product and an authentic territory.
