The Fiera del Derlo is the festival that Selva di Progno, a municipality in the upper Lessinia region in the province of Verona, dedicates to a humble and iconic object: the derlo, a conical basket particularly used in Lessinia to carry work materials or agricultural products on the shoulder. For generations, it was an indispensable companion for mountain dwellers, and today it has become a symbol of a heritage of artisan skills that the fair aims to keep alive.

Artisans at work and dedicated exhibition

During the event, artisans create the derlo and other traditional tools and artifacts live along the village streets, while an exhibition tells its story and weaving techniques. Alongside craftsmanship, there are also food stalls with local products and a rich entertainment program.

Music, sports, and nature in a heated marquee

The fair takes place inside a large heated marquee, allowing visitors to enjoy the event even in the cool autumn mountain weather. The program alternates live music, sports activities like a volleyball tournament, guided walks, and encounters with animals, culminating in a final fireworks display. A festival that combines tradition, community, and discovery of the Lessinia territory.
