The Cincionela Festival
In Chiampo, in the province of Vicenza, November is the month of the Festa della Cincionela co' la Rava, the festival dedicated to the cincionela, the town's typical sausage recognized as a De.Co. (Municipal Designation) product, traditionally served with yellow turnip. The event takes place in Piazza G. Fontana, in front of the Vocational Training Centre.
Flavours and tradition of the Chiampo Valley
The festival is promoted by the Municipality of Chiampo together with the Pro Loco Chiampo and focuses on an identity product of the valley: the cincionela, an expression of the local charcuterie tradition. The food stall offers the sausage with turnip and other local dishes, in a popular festival atmosphere.
Music and 'balli in contrà'
Alongside the food, the program alternates evenings with DJs and dance music and the characteristic Sunday afternoon 'balli in contrà' (neighbourhood dances), which recall the tradition of Vicenza's village festivals. An event that combines flavours, conviviality, and cultural roots of the Chiampo community.
