The great village dinner featuring local Pro Loco flavors, Risorgimento re-enactments, and music under the stars
Mangè an n'autra cort is a gastronomic and historical re-enactment event that brings the historic center of Castagnole Piemonte—a small town in the Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont—to life every June. The name, in the Piedmontese dialect, means "eating in another courtyard" and perfectly captures the event's spirit: the town's squares and streets become one single, large village courtyard where people gather to dine under the stars, just as they did in the courtyards of ancient hamlets.
The beating heart of the festival is the fourteen Pro Loco associations from the provinces of Turin and Cuneo, each showcasing their own stands and most representative recipes. Along the gastronomic route, you can taste traditional Piedmontese specialties such as:
One of the most evocative elements is the historical re-enactment in period Risorgimento costumes, featuring over 150 performers. The procession starts from Via Torino and reaches Piazza Cesare Battisti, starring the figure of Rosa Vercellana, the famous "Bela Rosin," linked to King Victor Emmanuel II. The performance involves the La Maschera di Ferro Historical Association of Pinerolo, the flag-wavers of San Marzanotto, and the Piccolo Varietà theatrical group, including ladies, knights, commoners, jugglers, and musicians.
After dinner, the party continues in Piazza Cesare Battisti with live concerts and DJ sets that keep the crowd dancing until late, with repertoires ranging from 80s and 90s hits to contemporary dance music.
Admission is free: Mangè an n'autra cort is one of those authentic village festivals that unites entire communities, highlights Piedmontese local products, and offers an evening of great food, history, and entertainment for families, curious visitors, and fans of popular traditions.
The eighth edition of Mangè an n'autra cort takes place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, in the historic center of Castagnole Piemonte, from 7:00 PM until late at night, with free admission.
Fourteen Pro Loco associations from the provinces of Turin and Cuneo offer Piedmontese specialties—from agnolotti del plin to fritto misto, from ravioles of Val Varaita to bunet—accompanied by local wines. At 7:15 PM, the historical re-enactment in Risorgimento costumes begins, with over 150 performers and a procession from Via Torino to Piazza Cesare Battisti. The evening continues with live music and DJ sets until late at night.

Castagnole Piemonte is located about 25 km south of Turin. By car, it can be reached from the Turin ring road heading towards Pinerolo/Carmagnola; by train, the reference stations are Carmagnola or None, with a short drive to follow.
The event runs from 7:00 PM until late at night. Admission is free; you only pay for what you consume at the Pro Loco food stands.
This is an outdoor event held in the streets and squares of the town center: comfortable shoes are recommended. It is best to arrive early for dinner, before the historical re-enactment begins.
