The summer food and music festival in Santa Lucia di Cervaro
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
In the heart of summer, the village of Santa Lucia in Cervaro, located in the province of Frosinone, hosts Magna Magna, a local festival created to celebrate good food and community spirit. The name, in the local Ciociarian dialect, is a straightforward invitation: "eat, eat." And that is exactly what visitors do, enjoying food stalls, traditional dishes, and live music in the square in front of the church.
The first edition took place in August 2023, and in just a few years, Magna Magna has become one of the most anticipated summer events in the area. Organized by the Santa Lucia Cultural Association, the festival was born from the desire to revitalize the small village with an event capable of bringing together residents, families, and visitors from the Cassinate and Liri Valley. It is a simple and sincere way to gather in the square on warm summer nights.
The heart of the event is the food stalls, which generally open at 7:00 PM and offer specialties from the Ciociaria region, ranging from pasta dishes to traditional peasant recipes. The dining experience is always accompanied by live music, with bands and dance groups entertaining the crowd until late in the evening.
Cervaro is a town in lower Lazio, in the province of Frosinone, nestled at the foot of the hills overlooking the Cassino plain. Its hamlet of Santa Lucia preserves the intimate soul of Ciociarian villages, where local festivals remain a fundamental part of community life. Magna Magna fits perfectly into this tradition: it is not a manufactured tourist attraction, but a grassroots event promoted by the local association and enjoyed primarily by the local community and neighbors from nearby towns.
Admission to the event is free: you only pay for what you consume at the stalls. This is the formula that has made Magna Magna one of the most popular summer festivals in the area, where the pleasure of good food meets music and the joy of being together outdoors, under the August sky of the province of Frosinone.
A new edition of Magna Magna, the summer festival of Santa Lucia di Cervaro (FR) organized by the Santa Lucia Cultural Association, is expected for 2026. Dates and the schedule have not yet been released: the event traditionally takes place in the second half of August, in the evening, in the square in front of the church.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition has not yet been officially announced by the Santa Lucia Association.
Based on previous editions, Magna Magna usually takes place over two evenings in the second half of August, featuring:
