The grand truck rally in the industrial district of Magliano Alpi, featuring vehicle displays, conviviality, and the traditions of Cuneo's transport community.
The Magliano Alpi Truck Rally is one of the most cherished events dedicated to the road transport sector in the province of Cuneo. Every year, the industrial zone of Magliano Alpi, a small town in southern Piedmont at the foot of the Cuneo Alps, transforms for an entire weekend into a massive gathering of trucks from all over Italy. With mirror-polished exteriors, custom cabins, spectacular fittings, and vibrant lights, this event is highly anticipated not only by industry professionals but also by families and enthusiasts from across the region.
The event spans two days. Saturday is dedicated to the arrival and truck exhibition: vehicles are arranged throughout the industrial area, allowing the public to admire these road giants up close and chat with the drivers. The day concludes with a convivial dinner, a key moment for drivers, organizers, and fans to connect.
Sunday is the most action-packed day: after a morning breakfast, the assembly of the FAI Cuneo Haulers Association takes place, followed at noon by the evocative blessing of the drivers, a deeply felt ritual for those who spend their lives on the road. In the afternoon, awards are presented for the most beautiful and original trucks, ranging from the best-lit vehicle to the one with the most detailed livery.
The rally is the result of a joint effort by several local entities: Gli Amici di Sant'Albano Stura, Ballario Trasporti S.r.l., the FAI Cuneo Haulers Association, and the Gruppo Picchio Rosso, with the invaluable support of numerous volunteers. The event often ties into other significant milestones for the industry, such as association anniversaries and public debates on critical transport issues: infrastructure, Alpine passes, and strategic links between the Cuneo area and France.
Although it began as an industry meet-up, the Magliano Alpi Truck Rally has become a true local festival open to everyone. Throughout the two days, visitors can enjoy street food provided by the Gruppo Picchio Rosso, inflatables, and a play area for children, along with various entertainment activities. It is a formula that blends a passion for heavy vehicles with the conviviality typical of Piedmontese festivals and a strong sense of community, in a corner of the province of Cuneo where road transport is an integral part of the local identity.
The rally takes place in the industrial zone of Magliano Alpi (ZIP code 12060), in the province of Cuneo, Piedmont.
By car: Magliano Alpi is easily accessible via the A6 Turin-Savona motorway (Carrù-Magliano Alpi exit) and the main roads of the Cuneo plains. By train: the reference station is Cuneo, located a few kilometers away, with a short drive to the industrial zone.
Admission to the exhibition area is free. The Saturday evening dinner requires a reservation and features a set menu; breakfast and a social lunch are scheduled for Sunday. Street food and a children's area are available on-site.
