Chamber music by moonlight in the Sforza Fortress of Dozza
In the heart of Dozza, a small municipality in the metropolitan city of Bologna, famous for its painted walls and listed among the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, the Sforza Fortress becomes the stage for classical music concerts for two evenings. The events are part of the "Magical Nights at the Villas and Castles" series, a summer itinerary that brings great chamber music to the historic residences of the Bologna area.
The 2026 edition, organized by the Musical Association Conoscere la Musica - Mario Pellegrini, offers five weekly appointments at Villa Smeraldi in San Marino di Bentivoglio, Cà la Ghironda in Zola Predosa, and the Fortress of Dozza. A short and clear schedule, also designed for those who do not regularly attend chamber music: recognizable venues, a stable time slot (always at 9 PM), and accessible programs.
The Fortress of Dozza hosts two concerts dedicated to the piano. On June 17, the piano duo Gianluca Blasio and Lisa Redorici will perform the program "European Fairy Tales and Oriental Stories" four-hands. On July 1, it will be the turn of Francesca Rinzullo and Giuseppe Fausto Modugno, in a recital for four-hands and two pianos that spans Mozart, Debussy, and Ravel.
Attending a concert at the Fortress of Dozza also means discovering one of the most fascinating villages in Emilia-Romagna, along the Via Emilia between Imola and Castel San Pietro Terme. The fortress, of medieval origin and later modified by the Sforza family, houses the Regional Wine Bar of Emilia-Romagna and overlooks a village-gallery where the facades are frescoed by renowned artists. The setting transforms listening into an experience that combines music, art, and heritage.
In the 2026 edition of the summer series organized by the Conoscere la Musica Association - Mario Pellegrini, the Fortress of Dozza hosts two of the five scheduled concerts. The evenings, always at 9 PM, are dedicated to the piano and are part of a program that also includes Villa Smeraldi and Cà la Ghironda in the Bologna area.
