About Magic Christmas
The grand Christmas festival just outside Rome
Every winter, from November to Epiphany, the MagicLand amusement park in Valmontone changes its look to become Magic Christmas, presented as the largest Christmas festival in Central-Southern Italy. Over 50,000 square meters of illuminated walkways, artificial snow, themed music, and festive scenery transform the park into a true Christmas city, located about 50 kilometers from Rome in the municipality of Valmontone, within the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, Lazio region.
Santa's Castle and themed trails
The heart of the event is Santa's Castle, where children can meet Santa Claus in person, deliver their letters, take a souvenir photo, and receive a small gift. Surrounding the castle are immersive trails like the Regno AdvenTour, an outdoor 24-stop Advent calendar designed for families, and interactive novelties such as La Fabbrica delle Bollallegre, a theatrical journey through magical bubbles, or the Magic Winter inflatable area with a snowy slide for the little ones.
Shows, parades, and an ice rink
The Gran Teatro Alberto Sordi, a 900-seat venue, hosts original musicals from the Lucy saga, offered free of charge to park visitors. Along Main Street, the Christmas Parade features the festival's characters – Gattobaleno, Steve the Candy Cane, and Henry the Nutcracker – while the Cosmo Academy planetarium offers immersive screenings dedicated to the Northern Lights. The experience is completed by a 200-square-meter ice skating rink and the Magic Christmas Express train, which provides free transport between the park's areas.
Markets, flavors, and atmosphere
The Christmas market stalls offer hot chocolate, traditional sweets, themed street food, and gifts from the elves of Elfidea. The park's restaurants serve special Christmas menus, while face-painting stations complete the experience for the youngest visitors.
Christmas in the historic center of Valmontone
In parallel with the park's village, the Municipality of Valmontone brings the historic center to life with the "Christmas in Valmontone" program: artisan and charity markets within the 17th-century Palazzo Doria Pamphilj, a living nativity scene, workshops for children, film screenings, and street performers including jugglers and stilt walkers. The municipal program is defined year by year as the holidays approach; the 2024 edition took place from December 6th to January 6th.
A partnership born in 2023
Magic Christmas in its current form was born in the winter of 2023 from a collaboration between MagicLand and Il Regno di Babbo Natale in Vetralla, the Christmas world conceived by Giorgio Onorato Aquilani, under an agreement intended to last at least five years. The initiative, awarded at the Parksmania Awards, has allowed the park to extend its season beyond the summer and create new local employment, making Valmontone one of Italy's capitals for family Christmas celebrations.
Magic Christmas — edition 2026
The 2025-2026 edition of Magic Christmas transformed MagicLand into a true Christmas city from November 8, 2025, to January 6, 2026, with openings on weekends, public holidays, and during school breaks. Among the year's novelties were the interactive trail La Fabbrica delle Bollallegre and the Magic Winter inflatable area with a snowy slide, designed for younger children.
The Gran Teatro Alberto Sordi staged the free musical "Lucy and the Mystery of Lost Magic", while the Christmas Parade with Gattobaleno, Steve the Candy Cane, and Henry the Nutcracker marched along Main Street, accompanied by live Christmas medleys on the park's stages. The Cosmo Academy planetarium offered the immersive screening "Aurora: Lights of Wonder", dedicated to the Northern Lights.
The offer was completed by Santa's Castle with souvenir photos and letter delivery, the 24-stop Regno AdvenTour, the 200-square-meter ice skating rink, the Magic Christmas Express train, Christmas markets with hot chocolate and Elfidea gifts, ElFace Painting, and festive menus in the restaurants. Online tickets started at €14.90 for adults and €6.90 for children between 90 and 140 cm.

How to get there
MagicLand is located on Via della Pace, in the Pascolaro area of Valmontone (RM), about 50 km southeast of Rome, opposite the Valmontone Outlet. By car: A1 Rome-Naples motorway, take the Valmontone exit, then follow signs for the park for about 1 km. By train: Valmontone station on the regional Rome-Cassino line, with taxis or shuttles available to the park. Ample parking is available on-site.
Tickets and opening hours
Online promotional tickets start at €14.90 for adults and €6.90 for children between 90 and 140 cm tall; free for those under 90 cm. Open on weekends, public holidays, and during school breaks, generally from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM: please check the official calendar at magicland.it. The markets in the historic center have free admission.
