The Christmas atmosphere along Viale Regina Margherita in Anagni
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Every year, as the holiday season approaches, Viale Regina Margherita in Anagni gets a festive makeover. The city's main thoroughfare hosts the Viale Christmas Markets, a seasonal event that turns the street into a lively promenade dotted with stalls, twinkling lights, and decorations. Organized by the Ceres Ars Association with the patronage of the Municipality of Anagni, the event has become a highly anticipated date on the local calendar in this town in the province of Frosinone, Lazio.
For two days—typically during the first weekend of December—the avenue welcomes exhibitors, artisans, and local producers. The wooden stalls and stands offer handmade crafts, gift ideas, Christmas ornaments, and typical products from the Ciociaria region, creating a perfect path for a leisurely stroll. The initiative aims to enhance the city center and strengthen community spirit, offering residents and visitors a chance to share in the magic of the Christmas countdown.
The Viale Christmas Markets are designed to be accessible to everyone: admission is free, and the open-air format invites you to explore Anagni's historic center amidst colors, scents, and small surprises. The Ceres Ars Association, a long-standing reference point for cultural and recreational activities in the area, hosts this event following the success of other holiday initiatives held in the heart of the city, such as walks and events dedicated to families and children.
Strolling through the Christmas stalls in Anagni also means immersing yourself in one of the most charming villages in Lazio. Known as the City of Popes for being the birthplace of several pontiffs, Anagni preserves a fascinating medieval historic center, featuring the famous Cathedral of Santa Maria and the Crypt of San Magno. The Viale Christmas Markets thus offer the perfect opportunity to combine holiday shopping with the discovery of the history and traditions of the Ciociaria region.
The Viale Christmas Markets return to Anagni for the holiday season in 2026. At the moment, official dates have not yet been communicated by the Ceres Ars Association: the event is traditionally held in December along Viale Regina Margherita. The detailed program will be published later by the organizers.
As in previous editions, the avenue is expected to come alive with stalls featuring handicrafts, local products from the Ciociaria region, gift ideas, and Christmas ornaments, in an open-air, free-admission setting suitable for the whole family.
Anagni is located in the province of Frosinone, Lazio. By car, it can be reached via the A1 Milan-Naples motorway, taking the Anagni-Fiuggi exit and following signs for the center. By train, the reference station is Anagni-Fiuggi on the Rome-Cassino line, which is connected to the city center by local buses.
The markets are held along Viale Regina Margherita, in the heart of Anagni. It is recommended to park in the parking areas near the center and reach the avenue on foot.
As this is an outdoor winter event, warm clothing is recommended. Admission is free and the event is suitable for families with children.
