The vintage comic and pop culture collecting festival at the Polo Fiere in Lucca
Lucca Collezionando is one of Italy's most beloved events for fans of comics and pop culture. Every year, at the end of March, the Polo Fiere in Lucca opens its doors for two days dedicated to collecting, vintage comics, and everything related to the analog imagination of generations who grew up in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Born in 2016 as a "springtime" offshoot of the famous Lucca Comics & Games, the festival has carved out its own intimate and relaxed identity, where the pace slows down, inviting visitors to flip through comic books, trade stickers, and admire original artwork.
Organized by Lucca Comics & Games in collaboration with the Municipality of Lucca, Collezionando takes place entirely indoors across the 7,000 square meters of the Polo Fiere, on the outskirts of the Tuscan city. The event reaffirms Lucca's role—in the Province of Lucca and the heart of Tuscany—as the Italian capital of comics and the ninth art, capable of attracting audiences and professionals from across the country even outside the major autumn festival.
The heart of the event is the massive collectibles market, featuring over 170 exhibitors including comic shops, publishers, dealers of original artwork, vintage toys, and trading card games. The space is divided into several thematic areas:
There is no shortage of 80s and 90s vintage arcade cabinets, board games, trading card tournaments like Pokémon and Magic, as well as dozens of associations and communities present.
Every edition features a rich program of exhibitions and a long list of guests: comic artists, illustrators, and satirical cartoonists host meetings, book signings, and workshops. The exhibitions celebrate anniversaries of cult characters and retrace the careers of great masters of the pen, offering the public a journey through the history of Italian and international comics.
With free entry for children, family-friendly promotions, free parking, and a shuttle service from the train station, Lucca Collezionando is an accessible event designed for all ages, perfect for spending a weekend filled with nostalgia, discovery, and a passion for collecting in the heart of Tuscany.
The 2026 edition of Lucca Collezionando, the ninth of the festival, was held on Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29, at the Polo Fiere in Lucca, confirming itself as one of the richest editions ever with over 100 guests, more than 170 exhibitors, 26 meetings, and 30 events across over 7,000 square meters.
The star of the edition was the illustrator Sergio Gerasi, author of the poster and celebrated by the exhibition Milano, Valentina e altre visioni. Guests included satirical cartoonists Vauro and Mario Natangelo and the French author Neyef, hosted in collaboration with Tunué. Exhibitions included Vauro – Satira per tempi di merda and a tribute to the 40th anniversary of Saint Seiya (Knights of the Zodiac).
Spaces were divided between the "Alfredo Castelli" Meeting Room, the Artist Alley, the PalaDedicando, and the Sali e Gioca area, featuring trading card tournaments, vintage arcade cabinets, miniature workshops, and wargames.
The Polo Fiere in Lucca is located at Via della Chiesa XXXII, on the outskirts of the city. By train: a free shuttle service runs to and from the Polo Fiere from the Lucca train station. By car: take the Lucca Est or Lucca Ovest exit from the A11 Firenze-Mare motorway; free parking is available at the venue.
Doors open at 9:30 AM. Tickets are available online via TicketOne. Free entry for children born after a specific date, with special promotions for families. The venue is entirely indoors.
Lucca offers numerous accommodation options in the historic center and surrounding areas: it is ideal to combine your visit to the event with a walk along the city's famous historic walls.
