The Val Sangone agricultural and forestry fair celebrating wood and the traditions of Coazze
In the heart of the Val Sangone, just a stone's throw from Turin, the town of Coazze dedicates an entire day to its most authentic identity: the forest, wood, and artisanal craftsmanship. Lu Bo e la Fejri — a name in the Piedmontese dialect meaning "the ox and the fair," a nod to ancient agricultural village fairs — is now one of the valley's most beloved events and a key appointment for promoting the forestry sector and local traditions.
For one day, the historic center of Coazze transforms into an open-air exhibition. Along Viale Italia '61 and in the town squares, you will find stalls featuring artisanal and food products, fine artistic crafts, plant and flower nurseries, and a large street food area offering local specialties. The beating heart of the day is the sculptors and woodcarvers, joined by carving schools from Val Sangone and Val Susa, who create their works live, featuring chainsaw sculptures, tree climbing demonstrations, and forestry machinery displays.
Alongside woodworking, there is space for hobbyists showcasing wicker baskets, terracotta, textiles, and paintings, as well as spinning and weaving demonstrations that recount the crafts of the past. The fair is also an opportunity to discover the cultural heritage of Coazze: during the day, the Ecomuseum of the Upper Val Sangone and the Resistance Ecomuseum open their doors with exhibitions dedicated to the history and territory of the valley.
Designed for all ages, the event offers games for children, the traditional bread-making workshop, and numerous side activities. Promoted by the Municipality of Coazze with the support of the Metropolitan City of Turin and the Val Sangone Mountain Union, Lu Bo e la Fejri combines taste, craftsmanship, and culture in one of the most vibrant days of the Piedmontese spring.
The fair is traditionally held on the first Sunday of May, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, as a one-day event.
Coazze (TO), Val Sangone — Piedmont. The event takes place along Viale Italia '61 and in the squares of the historic center (Piazza della Vittoria, Piazza Cordero, Piazza I Maggio).
Coazze can be reached by car from Turin in about 40 minutes, taking the SS589 towards Giaveno and continuing into the Val Sangone. It is recommended to park in the designated areas on the outskirts of the center, which is closed to traffic during the fair.
Access to the fair is free.
