A new fair for artist books in Livorno

The Livorno Art Book Fair debuts in 2026, establishing itself as a key destination for lovers of art books and independent publishing. The event takes place at the Museo della Città di Livorno, housed within the striking Bottini dell'Olio cultural hub—a former 17th-century oil warehouse converted into an exhibition space in the Venezia district, the most scenic part of Livorno, Tuscany.

The book as an artwork and space for experimentation

The fair serves as a platform for contemporary editorial research, exploring the publication as a space for experimentation, an artistic language, and an exhibition device. Far beyond its documentary function, the artist book is presented here as an autonomous work, capable of bridging visual practices, graphic design, photography, printing techniques, writing, and theoretical research.

The Livorno Art Book Fair brings together a broad and diverse community of art publishing professionals:

Part of Livorno's cultural summer

This first edition is part of a wider cultural landscape: it takes place concurrently with the 17th edition of the Premio Combat, a historic contemporary art prize promoted by Combat Art Review, and Effetto Venezia, the major summer festival that animates the Venezia district every year with music, shows, and exhibitions, drawing around 140,000 visitors. This setting turns the fair days into a true city-wide festival of art and culture.

Organization

The event is organized by Blob Art ETS and T.O.E., with the support of the Municipality of Livorno. Exhibitors are selected through an open call; interested parties can apply by filling out the online form following the regulations published on the official website.
